VQ Membership Requirements

Volleyball Queensland Membership

VQ player membership is required to be an active member of Dragons, as well as to participate in any VQ and VA sanctioned events. VQ Membership is based on the calendar year and is valid from the date of application until 31 March of the following year.

This includes member insurance that covers players for injuries while playing volleyball. It is the member's responsibility to ensure that they have the appropriate VQ membership and therefore, insurance.

Membership Levels:

  • Non-Playing: Required for coaches, referees, and other volunteers (Free)
  • PlayVolley: Required for Spikezone/PlayVolley participants in the Junior Program (Free)
  • Recreational: Minimum required for HST Juniors, General Training, Metro League.
  • Full: Minimum required for PVL

Dragons Requirements
  • Volleyball Queensland membership must be current, with a membership level appropriate to the activities the member participates in (PVL, General Training, Junior Program etc).
  • VQ membership application/renewal should be completed by the member at the same time as registering for the first Dragons activity the member participates in for the calendar year.
  • Note that VQ has implemented a Transfer Window for PVL players this year. If you need to transfer clubs, make sure you do it within the window.

Volleyball Queensland Transfers

If you wish to play in a Dragons team in a VQ competition, you must be affiliated with Dragons. Once you have registered with a VQ-affiliated club, you are affiliated with that club until you formally transfer clubs.
